This illustrated map pays homage to one of my favorite video games: Animal Crossing New Horizons. During the lockdowns due to COVID, I and so many others turned to Animal Crossing as a way to pass the time and found it to be calming, adorable, and perfectly charming. 

For my map I chose to use a more abstracted style to delineate the landmarks. Since every Animal Crossing player has a unique island and a unique style of decorating their island, I wanted to focus on calling out the landmarks that were unique to my own island, Sunnyglen, instead of the buildings that are shared by every player. I also decorated with oranges, Sunnyglen's native fruit.
